American Furniture Alliance is the final product of a company started over 20 years ago. In 1986 Markos &Widly, Inc. formed a company that manufactured bean bag chairs. The next year they expanded to include the manufacturing of futon convertibles and foam furniture. In 2003 each furniture line became a separate division. These lines were branded Elite Convertibles, Bean Bag Factory, and ModFX Foam Furnishings. In 2005 these lines began to be sold and marketed under American Furniture Alliance; still the same original company just a different name.

In 2007 American Furniture Alliance added a new line of stylish, contemporary furniture; The Modern Loft Collection and two new lines of futon covers the LXE and the LUXE. American Furniture Alliance is built to last with the solid strength of hardwood and metal. Pieces are easy to assemble and come with a 1 year limited warranty. The mattresses are durable with a long lasting innerspring core, perfect for everyday use. It features multiple layers of densified polyester and plush cotton for a comfortable feeling when sitting and sleeping alike and they are precision tufted to keep mattress contents from shifting.
